FABRIC DETAILS
Wool
Wool, a durable and elastic material that repels dirt, is a very popular choice for furniture. If you want a natural fabric with excellent properties, and which contains natural lanolin as extra protection, then wool is the ideal choice. Initially, wool may shed a little excess fibre (pilling) from the surface. This has no bearing on the quality and is solely an indication of good natural quality. Embers from cigarettes etc. that are removed immediately will not leave a mark. Dark clothes such as denim can leave a mark if they are rubbed against white fabric, such as a new pair of jeans against a light-coloured fabric sofa.
Martindale: 76000
Light Fastness: 5
Pilling: 4

Care
The manufacturer suggests to start by impregnating your furniture. For this, we recommend Bolia's care products that have been developed, tested and approved for the manufacture of their wool. If you impregnate your furniture later, it is important that you clean it thoroughly before using a care product for the first time. As a rule of thumb, a care product lasts about half a year, and we therefore recommend that you repeat the impregnation a couple of times a year or as needed.
It is natural for wool to form some minor wrinkles when used, as wool is a stretchy natural material. If wrinkles have formed on your wool fabric, the fabric will contract if you moisten a tea towel with demineralised water, place it on the sofa and heat the tea towel with i.e. an iron at low heat or a hair dryer. Alternatively, you can moisten a tea towel and leave it on the wrinkles overnight. When the wool fabric dries, the wool fibres will contract once again.

We Recommend
Furniture fabric will not be at its best if left in direct sunlight. Some fabrics fade faster than others. But in general, fabric made from artificial fibre and light colours will fade the least. If you therefore need a sofa that will stand in plenty of sunlight, then synthetic fibre will be a better choice than a natural fibre. We recommend that you do not select a colour fastness below 4 (scale from 2-8).

In the case of hard wear and tear, abrasion resistance (Martindale) should exceed 20,000, while under normal circumstances, an abrasion resistance of 10,000 or more is enough. The abrasion resistance of our selected fabrics varies from 20,000 up to 120,000 Martindale. Fabrics with a Martindale exceeding 80,000 are suitable for commercial use.
